Types of crane need license
Bridge and gantry cranes
This is a type of crane that is being controlled from a control station or permanent cabin including that that are being remotely controlled with three or more powered operations.
A strut boom crane that has a pivoted boom at the base which can be held by backstays or guyed (which they called guy-derrick) and which is capable and amiable of luffing under load.
Portal boom cranes
Boom cranes that are mounted on a portal frame in which they are being supported on runways where the crane actually travels.
Self erecting tower cranes
This is a bit different as this type of crane is not disassemble, the crane will be brought from one site to another as is. The unit has two main function and these are, erection and dismantling process.
Slewing mobile cranes
A crane that is highly capable of being slewed, excluding works like backhoe, excavator, front end loader and including other earthmoving equipment when being configured for crane operation.
A boom or jib crane that is mounted to a tower structure, permanent or demountable, including both the luffing and horizontal jib types.
Concrete placing booms
This crane covers the the job of knuckle type concrete placing booms, that are capable of power operated luffing and slewing to place the concrete by pumping on a pipeline.
