Determine which of your feet are dominant and put it forward.
In wake boarding, the key thing that should be done is to balance yourself on the wake board. By doing so, you have to put your best foot forward or the foot that is more dominant in terms of control. This is for you to have a proper grip on the board and for you to be able to balance yourself properly. You need to figure out which foot are you most comfortable in taking control and balance your body on the board. Let the forwarded foot take control on the boar that you are standing on. At first you may want to just steady your feet but when you get used to the sport, you will be able to glide together with the waves and move your body along for a better balance.
Use a shorter rope at first.
When you are just starting out on doing wake boarding, you should start with the use of a shorter rope since this will give you an easier way on how you can balance yourself on the board. Also, because it is shorter, you can easily get out of the water when you fall because it has a tighter grip and you can have it as a leverage that you can hold to be able to get up. At first, try tucking in your knees and hands closer together and kneel on the board. When the speed is getting faster, slowly stand on the board to have an even distribution of your weight on it avoid falling off from the wake board.
Do not be in a hurry.
It is always difficult in the beginning but you do not have to lose your patience. Just take your time since by practicing, you will be able to perfect it and be able to do wake boarding like you are a professional wake boarder. You do not have to be in a hurry.
